Is the 1510 carry-on approved?
Yes. The Pelican 1510 was designed for carry-on use and fits within the size limits of all major airlines. Because airline policies can vary, we always recommend checking your carrier’s current requirements before flying.
How does the 1510 compare to the 1535 Air?
The 1510 is the more traditional Pelican carry-on, known for its rugged build quality and decades of proven durability. The 1535 Air offers similar carry-on functionality in a lighter-weight design, while the 1510 is often preferred by customers who want the more robust, classic Protector case feel.
Should I choose foam, dividers, or TrekPak?
It depends on how you plan to use your case. Foam is best for a permanent custom fit, padded dividers are ideal for flexible setups that change often, and TrekPak offers a clean, professional layout for kits that stay mostly the same.
Is the 1510 too heavy for air travel?
The 1510 is absolutely travel-friendly, but it is noticeably heavier than the 1535 Air. If you want the most rugged classic Pelican carry-on, it is a great choice, but travelers who are especially weight-conscious may prefer the lighter Air series.

Perfect gear for deployment
I was driving by Vegas with the fam (last vacay with them before a 9mo deployment) and Colorcase store just caught my eye. My husband was like, won’t u need a pelican?
Fast fwd, this has been the best decision ever, I ended up flying 5x prior to getting to my ULT dest, and I’m 61”, this deep luggage practically fit 2seabag full, it became my closet for 2 mos.. Extremely durable while transporting living situations via gravel.. Just so damn convenient and all branches are just in envy. Not to mention, their superb customer service at the flagship store.
